Employment: Box Office: You will be under general supervision of the Box Office Manager. Position requires you to perform a variety of duties for the theatre. Assists Box Office Manager with coordination of all box office activities including daily balancing, closing, answering phones and processing ticket sales, develops, edits, proofs and compiles manuals, procedures and correspondence, and makes decisions which affect the effectiveness of the department. PLEASE NOTE: We are seeking Part-Time applicants. We prefer to find someone who has some flexibility to work between the hours of10:00am and 7:30pm so we can fill shifts. Typical hours would be between 17-25 hours a week. Ushers: Greet patrons attending entertainment events. Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules. Provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs. Settle seating disputes and help solve other customer concerns. Assist patrons in finding seats, lighting the way with flashlights if necessary. Search for lost articles or for parents of lost children. Operate refreshment stands during intermission or obtain refreshments for press box patrons during performances. Distribute programs to patrons. PLEASE NOTE: We are seeking part time applicants that are available to work Thursday & Friday from 6:30pm-10:00pm. They must also be available from 10am -10pm pm Saturday. You would not be required to work all these shifts; it would vary depending on the week. Sound Designer/Board Engineer: We are accepting resumes for Sound Designer/Board Engineer. This would be a position that lasts only as long as the run of a production. The position requires expertise in creating and implementing sound effects and mood creation through collaboration with director and producers from concept to the stage, managing and/or executing the tech week pre-show set up, during show maintenance and post-show breakdown of all sound equipment including front of house, onstage and backstage monitors and all communications systems. Applicant must have experience in professional audio mixing systems and a solid base in audio theory and implementation. Volunteers:
Volunteer Costumer Assistant: The Hale Theatre is seeking a professional costumer. We prefer someone who has experience with washing and ironing regular and delicate clothing articles. We would also like them to excel at sewing, mending, and alterations.
Volunteer Video Editor & Sound Editor: If you have professional experience in these fields and are interested in a trade for tickets or would just like to build up your portfolio please contact us! We could use someone who knows Final Cut Pro, Apple Sound Track Pro, and/or Avid Editing Systems.
Volunteer Press Agent/Publicity: Can you draft press releases, write newsletter articles, and contact people in the media who print or broadcast our material? If you have professional experience in these fields and are interested in a trade for tickets or would just like to build up your portfolio please contact us!
Volunteer Strike Crew: We are seeking people interested in assisting us with putting sets up and taking them down. We perform strike on closing night of each performance and it typically runs from 10pm until 12am. Please be aware that some shows do take a little longer. This is a perfect opportunity for you to receive two tickets in exchange for your help!
