THE GREEN CAST
MARK KLEINMAN
Ebenezer Scrooge

Mark Kleinman,  an ariZoni Best Actor, is reprising the role of Scrooge for the 3rd year. Hale credits include: Emile de Becque (South Pacific), Old Joe (Damn Yankees). Diverse roles world-wide include: Rodolfo (La Boheme), Faust (Faust), The Witch (Hansel und Gretel), Lt. Cable (South Pacific), Captain Von Trapp (Sound of Music), Jacob (Joseph … Dreamcoat), The King (Cinderella). He voiced “The King” in Amazon Studios’ grand prize-winning test film, 12 Princesses. ANDREW LIPMAN
Marley/Old Joe

Andrew Lipman  is incredibly excited to be back at Hale for his 3rd appearance in A Christmas Carol. A New York trained actor, some of his favorite roles include Kovasky in the Off-Broadway Production of A Stoop on Orchard Street, Jud Fry in Oklahoma! (ariZoni Award) and Poo-Bah in The Mikado at The Cohoes Music Hall, upstate New York. Special thanks to his incredibly supportive family and friends. Kittens as well.

Vinny Chavez  is happy to be returning to Hale in A Christmas Carol! Previous Hale credits: Footloose (Travis), 9 to 5 (Dwayne), and Dames at Sea (Dick). Other credits: Valhalla (Ludwig), Fatboy (Tenant/Prosecutor), Pygmalion (Freddy), Seussical (Cat in the Hat), Cash on Delivery (Jenkins). Vinny is Program Director for AZ Magic of Music and Dance, a non-profit theater program for youth and adults with disabilities. Bob Cratchit

Bryan Stewart  is a long time veteran of the Hale Centre Theatre and is excited to be playing the role of Bob Cratchit. At Hale he was seen as The Phantom (Phantom), Curly (Oklahoma!), Andre Thibault (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Professor Bhaer (Little Women), Mr. Applegate (Damn Yankees) and Archibald Craven (Secret Garden). Bryan holds a degree in Music Theatre from Arizona State University. He thanks all those who make it possible to live his dream.

Robyn Bydalek  is thrilled to be back for her third year in Hale’s A Christmas Carol! Credits: National/Regional Tours: Brigadoon (Fiona), Music Man (Mrs. Squires, Marian U/S), Legally Blonde (Elle's Mom, Judge). Regional Theater: Music Man (Marian), Carnival (Lili), Anything Goes (Hope), Hello Dolly! (Irene), I Love You...(Woman One & Two), Lucky Stiff (Annabel). An AZ Certified Secondary Music Teacher and proud ASU graduate, Robyn is a private voice instructor when not performing or teaching high school choir.

Martha Cratchit

Abigail Stewart  is pleased to make her debut at the Hale Centre Theatre. She has played the roles of Martha and Fan in other versions of A Christmas Carol at CGCC. She had the honor of playing Mayzie in Seussical, the Musical at CMS. She is very excited to be in her first show at Hale with her Dad and her brother. Abby thanks her family and friends for all of their love and support.

Peter Cratchit/Sled Boy

Jeremy Rowley  is thrilled to be performing in A Christmas Carol on the Hale Theatre stage! He starred as Phoebus (ariZoni nomination) in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and as King Triton in The Little Mermaid with Actors Youth Theater. Jeremy has also performed in "Off the Cuff" comedy troupe; he hopes to go big in comedy some day. He thanks his parents and Dave Dietlein for giving him this great opportunity.

Oriana Valcamp  is delighted to be part of her first production at Hale! She is in seventh grade at Arizona School for the Arts where she is involved with Student Council and the Community Service Club. She has played Jane in Peter Pan (VYT), Sharpay in High School Musical 1 & 2 (ACT), Pepper in Annie (ACT) and Jasmine in Aladdin Jr. (ATA). Oriana is grateful to everyone at the Hale for making her Christmas dream come true!

Doug Cratchit

Joshua Mortensen  is excited to make his Hale Theater debut. He enjoys playing the piano, reading, singing with his sibling music group “Triple Forte,” and volunteering with his siblings to help improve their community. Josh and his siblings recently sang the National Anthem at the Gilbert Constitution Fair. He has been in; The Wiz, and I, Nephi (David). He thanks Dave and Corrin, the wonderful cast, and his family, friends and teachers for their love and support.
 
ANNIKA ALMQUIST
Carol Cratchit/Little Fan/Sled Girl/Want

Annika Almquist  had her “breakout role” at age four as Tinkerbell in Peter Pan (Beachnuts Theatre, Costa Rica). With Beachnuts, she appeared in Snow White, Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, and A Christmas Carol. In 2011, she starred in To My Amazement at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival (New Age Prod., L.A., CA). Recently, she had multiple parts in Seussical, Jr. (Counterpoint, Mesa, AZ) and is currently a member of Off the Cuff Improv Troupe (Gilbert, AZ).

Tiny Tim/Ignorance

Jared Mortensen  is excited to be back at the Hale. He enjoys singing with his sibling’s music group “Triple Forte,” playing soccer and volunteering in his town of Gilbert, but performing on stage is what he loves most! Jared has performed in: The Wiz, I, Nephi and this, his third production of Hale’s A Christmas Carol. Jacob Stewart  is delighted to be returning to the Hale Theatre and A Christmas Carol. Last year he was Tiny Tim in the Hale’s production and played the same role twice before in Chandler Gilbert Community College’s version of the show. He is very excited to do his first show with his dad and his sister. He enjoys staying busy, playing soccer and baseball in his spare time. He sends Merry Christmas wishes to all!

Cami Anglemyer  is appearing for her third year as Christmas Past. Cami is pleased to spend her Holiday season at the Hale. Previous Hale roles include Muriel Eubanks (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Mrs. Winthrop (The Secret Garden). Mark Hackmann  is making his third A Christmas Carol appearance. Hale credits include: Cash On Delivery, See How They Run, Hello Dolly! and The Nerd. His credits include Legally Blonde: The Musical, The Fantasticks, Noises Off!, I Hate Hamlet, Sweet Charity, and Urinetown. A Software Engineer, Mark’s wife Patty also acts and directs. Both are proud of son, Nathan, who is in Les Miserables on Broadway. Thanks Dave, both casts, and especially you, Boo’ful! I love you!

Malcolm Hooper  is thrilled to return to Hale to reprise his role in A Christmas Carol for the 3rd year in a row! In 2011 Malcolm made his Hale debut in It’s a Wonderful Life (Secretary), followed by Harvey (EJ Lofgren) and Bye Bye Birdie (The Mayor). He is grateful to this cast and crew. Isaac Dowdle  is overjoyed to be performing in his first production at the Hale. Recently he was in Mesa Community College's production of Hairspray. James Gish  is ecstatic to be joining Hale Theatre in his first production out of high school. James starred in Beauty & the Beast (Beast), South Pacific (Emile de Becque) and recently in The Phantom of the Opera (Phantom). James is a Freshman studying Business at ASU. He intends to pursue theatre as a career and dedicates his performance to his parents, Jim and Tina, and his grandmother, Corrine. Thank you for your love and support.

Fred's Wife/Ensemble

Heidi-Liz Johnson  is celebrating her first full year at HCT by reprising her performance as Fred’s Wife in this year’s production. She thanks the Dietleins, Cambrian and Lincoln for the opportunities she was given this past year to sing, act and dance in their extraordinary productions of A Christmas Carol, 9 to 5, Footloose, and Phantom. She looks forward to being a member of future fabulous casts at the Hale, which now feels like her second home!

Annalise Webb  is excited to be part of A Christmas Carol at Hale! She has a master's degree in Opera Performance/Music Theatre from ASU and has enjoyed performing locally as well as internationally. Favorite roles include Phantom (Christine Daaé) at Hale Centre Theatre, Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), and The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel). She thanks her supportive family, friends, God, teachers, and all the crew at Hale for their love, their guidance and for making this show merry!

Julian Peña  is thrilled to return to Hale for his 7th show! This ariZoni nominated, full-time performer’s been on many stages: Phoenix Metropolitan Opera, Arizona Broadway Theater, Book no Book Productions, Mesa Encore Theatre, Desert Stages Theater, Scottsdale Musical Theater Company, and CGCC and SCC. Julian toured with Los Angeles Master Chorale, Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix, and the Spire Chorus. He won 1st place (Musical Theater) and 3rd place (Classical) in the Artist of Promise Competition.

Monica Domschot  is thrilled to return to the Hale stage for her second year in A Christmas Carol! Previous Hale credits include 9 to 5, Oklahoma!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Hairspray, and Damn Yankees. Other credits include Lyric Opera Theatre’s Little Women, Bat Boy: The Musical, and Cabaret. Laura Soldan  is very excited to be involved in such a special production. She studied theatre at SIUE and enjoyed a 7-year run singing with the vocal trio, INACHORD, at various Midwest venues. Favorite roles include: Mimi (A New Brain), Mrs. Anthony J. Ebenezer Scrooge

Cory McCloskey  is the familiar weatherguy for FOX10 Arizona Morning, but formerly he made his living in the theater and on television. He performed on stages in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington in roles ranging from Josephine in Sugar, to Teen Angel in Grease and young Michael Hudson on NBC’s Another World. Cory also performs with America’s premiere “Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons” tribute group, December ’63. This is his debut at Hale Centre Theatre.

Chad Campbell  is exited to be back at Hale. His last show at Hale was Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour). Other credits include Spamalot (Patsy - ariZoni nomination), I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (ariZoni nomination), The Full Monty (Malcolm - ariZoni) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Coneybear - ariZoni). Nate Stuart  took a 5-year break and is excited to return to the stage to play Fred. Prior credits: Singin' in the Rain, April Ann, and Joseph … Dreamcoat. Other favorite shows include Children of Eden and Secret Garden. Thanks to his wife, Tiffany, and their two daughters Cadence and Taryn for their support during this crazy holiday season. Tatum Weight  is honored to be back at the amazing Hale Theatre! She was privileged to be in The Secret Garden (Mary Lennox) and Annie. Recently, Tatum appeared as Scuttle (Little Mermaid, NYA award), and Pilar (Legally Blonde, NYA nominated) with Studio 3. Favorite roles include: Annie (Annie) at Broadway Palm, and Dora’s Pirate Adventure with VYT. Tatum attends at Perry High School and aspires to be on Broadway. Haley Reed  is thrilled to be returning to HCT where she appeared last year as Belinda Cratchit and as Annie in Annie. Cole Maxson  is 9 years old and is very excited to be on the Hale stage where he has wanted to perform since he saw his mom and dad in Beauty & the Beast a few years ago. Last summer he played Ernie in Saturday's Warrior. Cole also loves performing in MCC’s Music Theater Workshops each summer. He plays the piano and the cello, loves sports, beat boxing, break dancing, making videos and playing Minecraft.

Clair Apostol  is beyond excited to return to Hale’s stage for the 5th time. Clair, who is 12-years-old, began acting at age 6. She is thankful for her experiences at A Childs Play, Ahwatukee Children’s Theater, Copperstar and other East Valley theaters. Tiny Tim/Ignorance

Bowen Maxson  is 6 years old and is so excited to be playing the role of Tiny Tim in the Hale Centre Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol. He loves the stage and has been known to really belt out his solos in MCC’s Music Theater Workshops the last few summers. Bowen is a first grader who loves reading, math, playing piano, building legos, sports and video games.

Nick Pauley  is 12 and happy to spend the holidays with his Hale family! This is his 14th production; his 5th at HCT. Nick was Young Erik in Hale’s Phantom. Rebecca Bryce  is thrilled to once again spend the Christmas season at Hale, reprising her roles as the Ghost of Christmas Past (for the third time!) and the Laundress (for the fifth time!). James Melita  is returning to HCT where he portrayed Teddy in Arsenic & Old Lace. Other credits: Robespierre/Prince of England in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Lend Me a Tenor (Saunders), 1776 (Rutledge), The Mikado (KoKo), and a voice actor in two video games as well as the animated film Dinonauts (2015). Darryl Poenisch  is very excited to be part of this amazing show. Fresh off of his appearance as Lieutenant Rooney in Hale’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace, Darryl has also appeared in Mesa Encore Theatre’s award-winning staging of Oklahoma! (Sam) and their production of Big River (Judge Thatcher/Counselor Robinson/Uncle Silas). For Barefoot Productions he appeared in Damn Yankees (Benny Van Buren). Kelsey Pokatello  is so excited to make her Hale debut! She has sung with various choirs, including the ASU Choral Union and the Phoenix Symphony Chorus, and performed in shows directed by opera singer Diedre Palmour-Gorton. Kelsey recently returned from a month-long music program in Italy, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this great cast and crew! Jessie Jo Pauley  is delighted to return to Hale where she was seen two years ago in Annie. This is Jessie Jo’s 33rd production. She won her first ariZoni for Morticia in Addams Family at Actor's Youth Theater. Previous roles: Phantom (Florence), Camelot (Nimue) and Hamlet (Bearded Lady) at Actors Youth Theatre. Charlotte’s Web (Fern) and Robin Hood (Maid Marian), both at Christian Youth Theatre. Aaron Ford  has been seen in productions all across the valley including, but not limited to: Phantom, The Producers, Fiddler on the Roof, Shrek: The Musical, Guys and Dolls, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, West Side Story, Macbeth, Beauty & the Beast and The Music Man. Audrey Sullivan  is excited to return to the Hale! She was last seen as Wendy Jo in Footloose and appeared in Princess & the Pea and Beauty and the Beast (Silly Girl). Audrey is graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Theatre Education with a minor in Dance. Special thanks to Harley, Dave, Corrin, and Cambrian for giving me this amazing opportunity. Enjoy and have a Merry Christmas!

Mary Jane McCloskey  is grateful to return to Hale for A Christmas Carol! What a great Christmas present to be performing with her husband, and her daughter! DAVID DIETLEIN
Director

David Dietlein  has been involved with theater since his early days in California when his parents and grandparents commandeered him onstage as a child actor. David is the Owner, Artistic Director and President of the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert. Originally from Los Angeles, David co-produced then produced more than 300 stage productions. He has received many awards for his artistic achievements, most recently garnering dual ariZoni awards for best director of a musical and best director of a non-musical for The 39 Steps and The Price of Freedom. Dave has directed every production of A Christmas Carol since the theater opened in 2003.
 
LINCOLN WRIGHT
Music Director

Lincoln Wright  is honored to be back at the Hale where he has been music director for many shows including The Sound of Music, Phantom, 9 to 5, Dames at Sea, and Hairspray. He was last seen on the Hale stage in the 2013 production of A Christmas Carol as Fezziwig and the Undertaker. He is also a pianist for Ballet Etudes and Ballet Arizona. Lincoln still keeps his day job as an attorney at the Udall Shumway law firm, handling nursing home neglect cases.
 
CAMBRIAN JAMES
Choreographer

Cambrian James  is well-known for his versatile staging at theaters throughout the Valley and nationally. He is a multi-award winning director and choreographer for his work in productions of Footloose, Damn Yankees and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Cambrian has also enjoyed a long career as an actor and dancer in Annie (Daddy Warbucks), Crazy For You (Bobby Child), The King and I (the King) and in the Hale production of Hairspray (Edna Turnblad).
